This is simple, and the best part is, it works 80% of the time to fix your “no connection, retry” error. Google Play Services syncs with the main servers to send and receive data. So, you have to set your device’s time and date correctly in order to make a proper connection.
Here’s how to access and change the date and time settings on your Android device:
- Go to Settings > Date and time
- Check “Automatic date and time”
- Or, instead of that, you can set time by yourself—just be sure the time and date are correct.
Delete Google Play Store app cache to fix “no connection” error
In order to quickly serve content to users and to keep its bandwidth at the same time, Android OS saves a cache of Google Play Store items which can sometimes lead to some issues, and it could be one of the causes behind the no connection retry error. It is fine to clear the cache and restart the Play Store. By doing this, in addition to resolving the issue, it will also serve you the most recent/updated applications for installing and purchase.
Here’s how to clear the data from the Google Play Store app:
- Go to Settings > Applications
- Swipe over to the “All” tab

Change DNS settings of your device or network router

Change or re-login with your Gmail account in the Play Store

- First, open the file manager app
- Then, browse to root/system/etc
- Finally, delete hosts.txt file
Factory reset your Android
If everything mentioned previously doesn’t work, you need to try the factory reset to your phone. It will remove everything and revert your device to its original condition. Make sure you back everything up before doing this, because all the data on your phone will be deleted and you won’t be able to get it back without doing a backup first.
- Go to Settings > Backup and reset
- Make a backup of everything on your device
